We have sites across slow WAN links that time-out when we try to do VUM remediation scans - basically can't use VUM against those hosts. If it were possible to install a VUM instance at the sites (2 hosts, enough disk space and compute resources available) that would fix it.
Is this possible - would it cause any problems? The idea just occurred to me - frankly I don't think it would work, because how would the vsphere client know which VUM instance you were looking at when the VUM plugin starts?
Just wondering if anyone knows for sure ...
