I am new to this forum.
I am currently working on a requirement which is as follows :
1.I need to check if any ESX host on a cluster is undergoing an upgrade.
2.Is there a way by which I can find this out programatically? say via a rest api call or something else.I can run the program somewhere in a vm residing in any esx or outside the esx network(doesn't matter)
3.there is a software called "Update Manager".Is there an api exposed for this(e.g. REST api or so) so that an external program can communicate with it and get the results?The external program can be in Java or python.How can Update Manager be helpful here? Is there any other way to achieve this apart from Update Manager ?
My objective is to check for the esx upgrade prior to running some other scripts in my Vapp,so I am brainstorming ways to achieve the same.
Anyone who has worked on this or has some knowledge,pls share with me,will be very helpful !
